Wairarapa in Wellington
There are so many ways to promote wines: wine competitions, participating in trade days, donations of product, advertising, social media, presentations to interest groups at a venue of their choice/hosting groups for tasting at the winery, sending wines for evaluation to wine writers, wine and food events, word of mouth and many more. One option that we have tried for the first time is running a competition. Being a partner for Wellington On A Plate with inner city café named Ti Kouka, the Maori word for cabbage tree, we thought that this would be a great opportunity to have a competition. It would promote Ti Kouka as well as our vineyard wines.
The entrants had to watch the video on our website and name the vineyard dog. The prize was a voucher for two to dine at Ti Kouka during Wellington On A Plate. Congratulations to Daniel Bridges who was the lucky winner. We thank all who entered. We trust that you enjoyed watching the video and that you will visit when you are in Martinborough. Freddie will be tied up, however you may hear him barking in the distance.
Martinborough is one half of the wider Wairarapa regional wine group. The other half are known as Wairarapa Wines. Collectively these two groups represent the three Wairarapa wine regions - Martinborough, Gladstone and Masterton. There will be a promotion of the Wairarapa Region wines under the banner Wine Wairarapa in September. Twenty seven wineries will be participating. For a ticket cost of $45:00 you will be able to meet the winemakers and owners, and select wines to taste from over 100 award winning wines. The ticket price includes all tastings and canapes. This event is being held in the St James Theatre, Courtney Place - Tuesday September 30 from 6pm.
The advertisement for participating wineries is indistinct. Visit the Wines from Martinborough for this information. This event is always popular so be sure to purchase your ticket early.
We look forward to seeing you there.
