Another take on "p"
Much of our work on the vineyard is governed by words beginning with "p"; planting, pruning, plucking, picking and for winemaker, David, passion and patience.
Another "p" word to enter the lexicon this vintage was participation. Visitors to our winery entered our working world of words beginning with "p".
Our winery tasting area features a picture window. Visitors look through and see wine being made and so get a general feel for the environment the winemaker works in. This vintage, several visitors have been pleased to accept an invitation from David to go through to the winemaking area and have a closer look at the process of wine in the making.
Visitors have peered through the refractometer to tell us what the brix is, plunged the cap on the pinot, pumped the handle on the basket press to make the chardonnay juice flow and put their ear to the bung-hole in the barrel to listen to this lovely wine fermenting.
This "hands on" experience has delighted many and increased their understanding of the work that goes into making the bottle of wine that they so enjoy.
Petite is perfect. It allows us to share the art and craft of making wine with you. Perhaps you will participate in Vintage 2007!
